Your Retreat. Your Rules.

Not every goal can be reached with a standard program. Whether you want to bring a leadership team closer together, are looking for a private time-out for two, or have special requirements – we design your desert experience exactly the way you need it.

Individual Retreats

For people with their own vision

Custom retreats are for anyone who wants more than an off‑the‑shelf program. Do you recognise yourself in one of these scenarios?

Executive Teams

You want to take your leadership team out of day‑to‑day business, strengthen resilience and experience real team building – far away from seminar rooms and PowerPoint. A retreat in the desert creates connections that would never emerge in the office.

Private groups & couples

You are looking for an exclusive experience for two or with friends. No strangers, no compromises. Just you, the desert, and a program tailored to your wishes.

Special requirements

You have specific goals, time constraints, or would like elements that our standard retreats do not cover. Perhaps a longer expedition, perhaps a combination of desert and coast. Talk to us.

  • Digital detox for strategic thinking

Contact us to discuss a customized program for your organization.

Is travel insurance required?

While not mandatory, we strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance that covers:

  • Trip cancellation
  • Medical emergencies
  • Adventure activities
  • Evacuation coverage

Please ensure your policy covers adventure travel and the specific activities on your chosen tour.

Are the tours suitable for children?

Day tours and overnight experiences can be suitable for children aged 8 and above, depending on the specific tour. Families should contact us to discuss the best options.

Survival retreats and multi-day hiking tours are designed for adults (18+) due to the physical demands and the nature of the experience.

How cold does it get at night in the desert?

During our season (December-February), daytime temperatures are pleasant at 20-30°C. Nights can get cool, dropping to 10-15°C in the desert. We provide warm blankets and sleeping gear for overnight experiences. We recommend bringing a light jacket or fleece for evenings. The cool nights under the stars are actually one of the most magical parts of the desert experience.

What kind of food is served during the tours?

We serve authentic Omani cuisine prepared in traditional style:

  • Fresh ingredients sourced locally
  • Campfire-cooked meals in the desert
  • Traditional bread baked in sand
  • Arabic coffee and dates
  • BBQ dinners on beach overnight tours

Meals are hearty and delicious – food is an important part of the cultural experience. Vegetarian options are always available.

Can I extend my stay after the tour?

Absolutely! Many guests choose to extend their Oman experience after our tours. We can help arrange:

  • Additional nights at partner hotels in Salalah
  • Relaxation time at beach resorts
  • Further exploration tours
  • Transfers to other Omani destinations

Let us know your wishes and we'll create a seamless extended itinerary.

Is there mobile phone signal in the desert?

No, there is no mobile phone signal in the remote desert locations where we operate. This is actually part of the experience – a true escape from connectivity. Our guides carry satellite phones for emergency communication. For survival retreats, phones are collected as part of the digital detox program.

Will I have my own camel on survival retreats?

Yes! On our survival retreats, you will be assigned your own camel for the duration of the experience. You'll learn to care for it, feed it, and develop a bond with this magnificent animal. It's one of the most memorable aspects of the journey – many guests form a deep connection with their camel.

What is included in the overnight desert camp experience?

Our overnight desert experiences include:

  • Hotel pick-up and drop-off in Salalah
  • Comfortable Bedouin-style camp accommodation
  • Traditional Omani dinner and breakfast
  • Camel riding experience
  • Guided visit to UNESCO sites (Wadi Dawkah, Ubar)
  • Sunset viewing from the dunes
  • Storytelling around the campfire
  • All refreshments throughout
How many people are in a group tour?

We keep our groups intentionally small to ensure a personal and exclusive experience:

  • Day tours: Maximum 8-10 guests
  • Overnight tours: Maximum 6-8 guests
  • Survival retreats: Maximum 5 guests
  • Hiking tours: Maximum 6-8 guests

Private tours can be arranged for any group size.

Where do we sleep on hiking tours?

On our hiking adventures, you'll experience authentic wilderness camping:

  • Sleep under the stars at carefully selected campsites
  • Unique overnight stays in natural caves (weather permitting)
  • Comfortable camping gear is provided
  • Campsites are chosen near natural springs for water and shade

This is part of the adventure – connecting with nature in its purest form.

Do I need to be very fit for the hiking tours?

Our hiking tours are rated medium difficulty and are suitable for anyone with a reasonable fitness level who enjoys walking. The 5-day hike covers 10-16 km per day, while the 10-day trail averages 10 km daily with one rest day. We take regular breaks at natural springs and adjust the pace to the group. No technical climbing experience is required.

What is the difference between the 3-day and 5-day survival retreat?

The 3-day retreat is ideal for beginners, with overnight stays at our base camp and daily excursions into the desert.

The 5-day expedition is more intensive:

  • Wilderness overnight camping on the dunes (not at base camp)
  • Advanced survival training and self-reliance
  • Visit to a desert oasis
  • Traditional Bedouin clothing provided
  • Medical clearance required before booking
How does the digital detox work on survival retreats?

On our survival retreats, phones are collected on the way to the camp and securely stored. This allows you to fully disconnect and immerse yourself in the experience. Your phone is returned on the morning of your departure day. Emergency contact with family is possible through our satellite phone if needed.

Can I book a private tour?

Yes, private tours are available for most of our experiences. This is ideal for couples, families, or corporate groups seeking exclusivity. Private tours for 1-2 persons can be arranged on request with adjusted pricing. Contact us for a personalized quote.

What languages do your guides speak?

Our guides are fluent in English and Arabic. Some guides also speak basic German. All tours are conducted in English unless otherwise arranged. Please contact us if you have specific language requirements.

Is Oman safe for tourists?

Oman is one of the safest countries in the world and is often called the "Switzerland of the Orient." The country has very low crime rates, a stable political environment, and locals are known for their warm hospitality toward visitors. You can explore with complete peace of mind.

How do I get to Salalah?

Salalah International Airport (SLL) is well connected with direct flights from major Gulf cities including Dubai, Muscat, and Doha. We offer airport pick-up and drop-off as part of our multi-day tours, or this can be arranged separately for day tours.

What should I pack for my tour?

We provide a detailed packing list upon booking. Generally, you should bring:

  • Comfortable, breathable clothing (long sleeves recommended for sun protection)
  • Sturdy walking shoes or hiking boots
  • Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen)
  • Personal medications
  • Camera for memories

For overnight tours and retreats, camping gear and traditional Bedouin clothing are provided.

When is the best time to visit?

Our main season runs from December to February when temperatures are ideal for desert adventures (20-30°C during the day, cooler at night). Tours are not available from March to November due to extreme heat. We recommend booking 3 months in advance, though last-minute bookings may be possible if spaces are available.

What is your cancellation policy?

Our cancellation policy is as follows:

  • 60+ days before departure: 30% cancellation fee
  • 30-59 days before departure: 70% cancellation fee
  • Less than 30 days: No refund

Full payment (100%) is required at the time of booking. We recommend travel insurance that covers cancellation.

What are the requirements to join a tour?

Basic requirements include:

  • English language skills (for communication with guides)
  • Physical fitness appropriate to the tour difficulty
  • Mental resilience for multi-day experiences

For our 5-day Survival Expedition, a medical clearance certificate is required at the time of booking.

Are solo travelers welcome?

Yes, solo travelers are very welcome. Many of our guests travel alone seeking a personal experience. For group tours, you'll join like-minded adventurers. Private tours can also be arranged for those seeking complete solitude.

Can I request vegetarian or special dietary meals?

Yes, absolutely. We can accommodate vegetarian, vegan, and other dietary requirements. Please inform us at the time of booking so we can prepare accordingly. Traditional Omani cuisine naturally includes many vegetarian options.

What happens in case of an emergency?

Our guides are trained for emergency situations and carry satellite phones for communication even in the most remote areas. We have established evacuation protocols and maintain contact with local emergency services. Your safety is our top priority.

Do I need prior experience?

No prior experience is necessary for most of our tours. Our guides will teach you everything you need to know along the way. For multi-day hiking tours and survival retreats, a reasonable level of physical fitness is recommended.

Is the tour dangerous?

Our tours are challenging but not dangerous. All our guides are trained in emergency response and equipped with satellite phones for communication in remote areas. Safety briefings are conducted at the start of each tour, and our team is prepared for any situation that may arise.
