When silence says more than any notification

Sariba was born from a simple realisation: modern travellers need more than another checklist trip. They need experiences that feel real. We take you into the deserts, mountains and coastline of Southern Oman – guided by people who call this land home.

Whether you are joining us for a relaxed day tour around Salalah, a multi-day hiking adventure or a deep desert retreat, every journey is designed to slow you down, connect you with nature and introduce you to genuine Bedouin hospitality.

Who we are

Where roots meet horizons

When Said was ten, his father showed him how Bedouins navigate, find water and survive in the desert. After fourteen years working as a security specialist across Europe, Asia and Africa, Said returned home – to help others experience this way of life.

Today, Sariba brings two worlds together: international standards meet Bedouin heritage. The reliability and safety travellers expect, with an authenticity that needs no staging.

The difference? Others take you into the desert. We let the desert get into you.

Vision & Mission

What we stand for

To bring Oman closer in a way that stays with you long after your flight home. To show that real connection grows when you slow down, listen and share stories under open skies – whether you come as a solo traveller, a couple, a family or a group of friends.

Our Mission: We bring people into the desert, the mountains and the coastline of Dhofar. Not as spectators behind glass, but as curious guests. Small groups, guided by real Bedouins, with techniques that have worked for generations. In landscapes that allow no shortcuts – and no mass tourism.

Our values

Three pillars

Values are not words on a website. They are choices we make every day – especially when nobody is watching.

Authenticity

What you experience with us was not invented for tourists. The survival techniques we use have been passed down through generations. When we say you sleep under the stars, we mean sand under your back and infinity above your head – not glass roofs and background music. You return with real skills and memories, not just filtered photos.

Cultural respect

Our guides do not talk about Bedouins – they talk about family. We do not “show” culture; we let you take part in it. Why Arabic coffee is a ritual, not a recipe. Why hospitality is an obligation, not a marketing slogan. And we never bring more people into this landscape than it can carry.

Responsibility

What we bring into the desert, we take back out. Every bottle. Every piece of packaging. Our camps leave no trace – but the experience stays. Responsibility also means: we challenge you without putting you at risk. Satellite phones and safety protocols are essentials, not props.

The people behind Sariba

Our Founder

A small team. Deep roots. A shared commitment to this land and to every guest we welcome.

Said Samhan
Co-Founder & Lead Tour Guide

Said co‑founded Sariba Adventures and leads all tours and retreats. As Lead Guide, he is responsible for your safety and experience on the ground – from the first tea in the camp to the last sunrise in the dunes. With his background in security and Bedouin upbringing, he creates journeys that are both safe and unforgettable.

Saids Story

The memory that changed everything

From the desert to the world – and back. At ten years old, Said did not yet realise his father was giving him a life lesson. He only knew that these days felt different. While other children watched TV, he learned to read the stars.

Decades later...

he had built a career as a security expert. Frankfurt, Singapore, Nairobi. Airport lounges instead of oases. One question kept returning: what had he lost in all that speed?

Decades later, he had built a career as a security expert. Frankfurt, Singapore, Nairobi. Airport lounges instead of oases. One question kept returning: what had he lost in all that speed?

He saw how visitors came to Oman – and stayed at the surface. They photographed dunes through bus windows. They missed what his father had given him: a deep understanding of a way of life that holds answers for questions many modern people have not even learned to ask.

Today, his mission is clear:

To share this transformation with others. To show travellers that confidence grows when GPS is not the only guide. That real teamwork appears when people light a fire together instead of just a screen.

What makes us different

What others promise, we practice

Many talk about sustainability. We live it: our tents appear when you arrive and disappear when you leave. While others move bus groups through the desert, we limit our groups to a handful of guests.

Inherited, not improvised: Guides who grew up here, not weekend course leaders

Truly tailored: Every tour shaped around your time, fitness and interests

Professionally secured: Said’s 14 years of security experience in every safety protocol

Small groups: Connection and quiet need space, not bus atmospheres

What people discover when they let go

Our guests return with more than just a tan. Families who were glued to screens rediscover shared stories around a fire. Friends understand why Bedouins do not rush time. Solo travellers find a calm they can feel in their body, long after their Oman tour ends.

Besides enjoying all the sights, we got really valuable information about life in Oman – all places were simply marvellous. The additional stories made this day unforgettable. We recommend Sariba Adventures to all travellers!
